Product Description
The 50 Goldback Libertas is the capstone of the Wyoming series, with 50/1000th oz of 24K gold. This design has Liberty as a modern explorer while drawing parallels to the biblical judge Deborah, the Lady of Torches.
Libertas (Liberty) is a mid-20th century hiker in Yellowstone’s wilderness. Her modern gear has deep meaning: a flashlight instead of a torch, a walking stick for divine guidance and a canteen for life-giving water. A sword and shield accompany her gear, for eternal vigilance in the preservation of freedom.
The scene includes Yellowstone’s most famous landmarks: Old Faithful’s geyser eruption and Osprey Falls. Wild raspberries surround Liberty, wolves and a mother grizzly bear represent the two sides of freedom - community and protection. The footing represents liberty’s presence in Wyoming’s wild spaces. Every detail was designed to make not just currency, but a statement of how freedom exists in America’s first national park.
